Salim Babu's charges secured the ticket to feature in the continental tournament following their 8-7 post-match penalties victory in the cup final against KCB last month.
Mozzart Bet Cup champions Kenya Police FC will debut in the 2024-2025 CAF Confederation Cup with a clash against Ethiopian Coffee in preliminary round.
The Law Enforcers were pitted against the Ethiopian giants, who have considerable continental experience, during the draw conducted on Thursday afternoon.
The first leg of the encounter will be held in Nairobi on the weekend of August 16-18 should CAF approve the Nyayo National Stadium to host the game.
The return leg will be held on the weekend of August 23-24 in Ethiopia with the winner on aggregate proceeding to the next level.
Police secured the ticket to feature in the continental tournament following their 8-7 post-match penalties victory in the cup final against KCB last month.
Consequently, the outfit was cleared to feature in the tournament after meeting the mandatory club licensing requirements.
Having won the cup and secured the necessary clearance, Police embarked on preparing for their first appearance at the continental level, by beefing up their squad and other relevant steps that go a long way in getting them ready.
The winner on aggregate of the two-legged tie will face Egyptian giants Zamalek in the next round.
The defending champions were handed a bye in the opening round and may play again in Nairobi for the first time since February 2019 should Police shoot down the Ethiopian opponents.
Zamalek's last visit to Nairobi ended sourly after losing 4-2 to Gor Mahia at Kasarani Stadium in a game that former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech was on target.
Ethiopian Coffee, just like Police, finished third in the concluded season.
With the first league fast approaching, Police will hope to conclude their transfers on time and find a head coach who meets the set requirements.
