Kenyan champions Gor Mahia will tackle South Sudanese side El- Merreikh Bentiu in the second preliminary round of the 2024-2025 CAF Champions League.

Gor secured a return ticket to the continent's top inter-club competition after retaining the Football Kenya Federation Premier League title.

K'Ogalo last featured in the competition in January 2020-2021 season, losing to Algerian giants CR Belouizdad 8-1 on aggregate in the second preliminary round.

The record league winners would have featured in the past term but were barred from participating after failing to meet the club licensing rules.

Back then, Gor had been reported to FIFA by their former foreign players who accused the club of breaching their contracts.

Gor will mark their return to the tournament with a visit to Juba for the first clash that has been penciled for between August 16 and 18.

The return leg is set to be held in Nairobi a week later should CAF approve the Nyayo National Stadium.

If Gor manage to sail past the second preliminary round, they will face defending champions Al Ahly of Egypt in what will be a significant test for the Kenyan club.

Ahly bagged their record-extending 12th title after edging Tunisian giants Esperance 1-0 back in May.

Gor are currently preparing for the task ahead in the CECAFA Kagame Cup in Tanzania.

Afterwards, the club is expected to feature in the Coal City International Cup in Enugu, Nigeria.
