He says he is uninterested in FKF NEC member post

Kenya Football Coaches Association (KEFOCA) boss Ricky Solomon has revealed that he has decided not to vie for the Football Kenya Federation National Executive Committee (FKFNEC) member for the Coastal Region position.

With less than three months to go to the FKF elections slated for February 2024, the former Harambee Stars defender noted that he has shifted his focus to leaving a legacy in the 2018 Kenya Premier League Super Cup winners; Bandari FC.

He further pledged his commitment to leading Bandari FC to be the second team in Coast to win a Premier League title. The first title from the Coastal region was won by the Faisal Football Club in 1962.

“Right now, all my energy is directed towards my former team Bandari FC. I want to see them become the second team in the region to win a Premier League title. It will be a dream come true for me," Solomon told Mozzart Sport.

The Bandari FC technical manager also rallied behind the boys as they welcomed Shabana FC at the Mbaraki Sports Club later on Sunday evening. He noted that they were anticipating a tough duel against the defensive Tore Bobe.

"It will be a tough game. The boys' spirits have been boosted by the 3-2 win against Kenya Police on Wednesday. We have prepared them psychologically," the former Bandari FC defender offered.

The legendary footballer was also excited by the recent surge of Bandari FC fans, noting that their efforts to create a sense of belonging among the fans were finally paying off.

"We have branches of fans from Likoni and other numerous ones around Coast. They organize themselves, even pay for their own transport to come and cheer the boys. It is now a community team," he averred.

He also assured that security measures were heightened to ensure a seamless match. They are anticipating more than 7,000 fans at the Mbaraki Sports Club.

The Coastal Giants currently sit ninth on the log with 13 points. They will be looking to amass maximum points when they square off with Shabana FC in the sizzling-hot Coastal weather.
