The two teams have met four times in the top tier; Gor have two wins to their name, while Police have picked one; the other encounter has ended in a stalemate.

Gor Mahia and Kenya Police FC will face off at the Moi Kasarani Stadium this afternoon in the highlight FKF Premier League match of the day.

It is a match that pits Gor against their former coach, Zdravko Logarusic, now in charge of Kenya Police FC, and a host of their former players, like Musa Mohammed, Harun Shakava, Francis Kahata, Yusuf Mainge, and Kenneth Muguna, now in the books of Kenya Police FC.

Last time out, Gor beat Shabana 1-0 courtesy of a late Rooney Onyango strike, while Kenya Police FC suffered a 3-2 dramatic defeat to Bandari in a match where four goals were scored in the final four minutes of the mouth-watering duel.

Gor Mahia remain unbeaten in the league this campaign, and they will be out to preserve that record when they meet the law enforcers, while the police side will be out to end their three-game winless run, with two of those games having ended in defeats.

The two teams have met four times in the top tier; Gor have two wins to their name, while Police have picked one; the other encounter has ended in a stalemate.

Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinstry will be hoping for a better approach from the police after lamenting Shabana’s defensive approach on Wednesday.

“I thought our guys worked really well. Teams sitting in a low block are usually hard to crack. At times, when they had nine players in their own half, we had to have players drop deep to get the balls. As they (Shabana) tired in the second half, we found the spaces more.".

“These are games where you have to be patient. I know people want to win by more than a goal, but today was about getting the three points and moving on to the next game.”

Logarusic, on his part, believes that his team will only get better after the recent struggles that it has faced. "The team can only get better, not bad. The training we sometimes do after the game is not punishment but a recap of how the team has played with the aim of rectifying our mistakes," the former Sudan national team coach told the Daily Nation.
