Three more years for the Algerian
Riyad Mahrez signed a new contract that will keep him at Manchester City until June 2025! The 31-year-old winger's form for the Premier League holders gave manager Pep Guardiola and director of football Txiki Begiristain an easy decision to extend the stay of the African magician.

The Algeria international became one of the key figures in Guardiola's team since making the move from Leicester City in 2018. In his four seasons at the Etihad, he helped the Cityzens win three Premier League titles, three League Cups and an FA Cup.
"I'm very happy to sign the new deal. I have enjoyed every single minute of my time here. It's a pleasure to be part of such an incredible club. To have helped us achieve the success we have enjoyed in the past four seasons has been unforgettable and made us all hungry to look to achieve even more."

In total, Mahrez made 189 appearances for City, scoring 63 goals and adding 45 assists. He completed City's 2021/22 Premier League-winning campaign as their top marksman with 24 goals in all competitions – his best return in a sky blue shirt.
Each season, he challenged himself to better his stats from the previous campaign and he certainly stood up to the task with an evident hunger to match his quality and composure. That sort of attitude made him a staple of Guardiola's side over the past four years.

Mahrez's three-year extension comes in the middle of an already great transfer window for City, in which they've already signed Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips, Julian Alvarez and Stefan Ortega.
But the most important thing is to keep the winning blocks of an already successful team.
