The Bankers are eager to be at the helm of the FKFPL standings by June 30 to earn a chance of representing Kenya in the CAF CL

The elimination of KCB from the Football Kenya Federation Cup by Kariobangi Sharks last week was deemed as a massive blow to their hopes of representing the country in next season's continental matches.

KCB lost 5-4 on post match penalties in the round of sixteen to the former holders to not only crash out of the tournament but to bid farewell to their ambition of advancing further in the tournament and eventually clinch the ticket to the CAF Confederation Cup.

The bankers dug deep into their coffers during the summer and February transfer windows to strengthen their squad in anticipation for double glory at the end of the season.

Despite falling short in one of the target, attacking midfielder Vincent Wasambo says they will leave nothing to chance in the race to win the June 30 license to the CAF Champions League.

Wasambo who was captured from Sharks a season ago said their focus is concentrated on winning all their remaining league fixtures in the month and earn the rights to fly the Kenyan flag in CAF matches as well as redeem themselves from the Cup exit.

"Just because we lost to Sharks doesn't mean that we are out of contention in as far as playing continental football is concerned. The exit from the Cup gave us time to prepare and to plot on how we will win all our fixtures in the month and finish top by deadline day," he said.

As a way of shouldering the task at hand, the former national U20 midfielder said he was pursuing to score at least five goals in the four fixtures lined up for the month.

The former FC Talanta man who has a goal against his name this season also lifted the lid on his lofty target of registering as many assists as he could.

"The team has to be on top by the end of the month by all means. Personally I feel I have what it takes to find the back of the net at least five times and grabs assists for fun in the four matches," he added.
