The Bankers have won just two of their last ten games, and Odhiambo will be hoping to return his team to the winning formula
KCB FC head coach Patrick Odhiambo has termed his team’s 0-0 draw against Tusker FC in Machakos on Sunday as a fair outcome, as his side denied the Brewers a chance to go top of the pile after Kenya Police had slipped up earlier, drawing 1-1 with Sofapaka FC.
Both teams had chances to win the game, but wastefulness saw the scoreboard read 0-0 at full time. For Tusker, it was a slip in the title race, while for KCB, it was an extension of what has largely been a bad run for the team, which has seen them slip from the top position to 5th on the table with 29 points. They are eight points behind leaders Police.
Speaking on the outcome of the match, the former Western Stima, Sony Sugar, and Kakamega Homeboyz FC boss termed the outcome a fair result.
“This was a tough game, and I can say that a draw is a fair result,” he said.
He also revealed the plan for the game, with his team appearing to be defensive for the better part. He said the plan was to deny Tusker opportunities to threaten their goal.
“The plan was to win this game, and off the ball, we were to drop behind and defend better. That is what we did in the game,” he added.
New signing Mathews Isogol made his debut, starting against the Brewers. He was not the only starter, as fellow new faces Manzur Okwaro and December Kisakah also started. Odhiambo said he felt the former Mara Sugar FC player was ready to start after training with the team for the whole week.
“Isoogol is a good player. He is experienced, he has trained with us all week, and that chemistry has developed and will get better,” he said.
The Bankers have won just two of their last ten games, and Odhiambo will be hoping to return his team to the winning formula when they play Sofapaka FC next weekend.
