The Brewers were quick off the blocks, needing just 17 minutes to open the scoring through Francis Oduor, but teenage sensation Humphrey Aroko offered an immediate riposte two minutes later, with Ian Simiyu delivering all three points for Julien Mette's charges.

Tusker went into the match in ninth position with 32 points following a 1-0 win over Murang'a Seal last time out, and were keen to make it back-to-back wins for the first time since December 2025.

Sharks, on the other hand, were 14th on the log with 22 points and were coming on the back of a midweek win over APS Bomet in the relegation dog fight.

The match started with Tusker on the ascendancy as they had their first chance inside two minutes, but Dennis Oalo could not connect to a cross as the chance went begging.

Tusker continued to dominate early proceedings of the match through Fabian Adikiny in midfield, but could not create any significant chances by the 10th minute.

The Brewers would then get their reward in the 16th minute when Francis Oduor rose high to head in a Collins Odhiambo corner.

Not to be deterred by the goal, Sharks responded immediately through Humphrey Aroko, who capitalised on Tusker’s erratic build-up to shoot past Brandon Obiero and into the top corner.

Tusker had a chance to add a second in the 35th minute, but Ibrahim Joshua’s header from an Odhiambo cross went inches wide off the right post.

Sharks had their fair share of chances in the 44th minute when Salum Ali picked up a loose ball outside the box, but directed his shot over the bar with the half-time whistle blowing shortly after.

In the second half, Sharks were the recipients of the first chance when, on a quick transition in the 55th minute, Aroko drove into the box and brought in a low cross that was met by Salum, but Obiero was present to pull an excellent save to maintain the scores level.

The William Muluya-coached side had another chance in the 73rd minute when Aroko attempted a long-range shot after spotting Obiero off his line, but the ball missed the target.

Tusker would then grab the winner in the 78th minute through Ian Simiyu, who pounced on a loose clearance by Sharks, five minutes after he had come on as a substitute.

In the end, Tusker were able to hold on to their lead and grab a second win of the Julien Mette era that pushed them to seventh on the log with 34 points while Sharks remain 14th with 22 points.
