Homeboyz are still in search for a new coach.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz have wrapped up their player transfer business with the acquisition of three players.

Homeboyz who have been active in the market in a bid to strengthen the team ahead of the new campaign have signed ten players in the and released eight.

The club also promoted Brian Buleti to the senior team while long serving goalkeeper and club skipper David Juma has since transitioned into coaching after hanging his boots and gloves

The club finished its transfer activities by signing the trio of Ibrahim Wanzala, Brian Wekesa and Mathias Isogoli who are all expected to make their debuts at the top flight in the new season.

Wanzala, an upcoming goalkeeper was headhunted from National Super League side Mayenje Santos while Wekesa who can play as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder joined the club from Nyota FC.

Abana Abeingo were impressed with Wekesa during a friendly match against Nyota played last weekend at Bukhungu Stadium.

Isogoli on the other hand, according to Homeboyz Team Manager Boniface Imbenzi joined the club as a free agent and is set to fight for a place in the congested midfield.

Homeboyz were forced to add numbers in the midfield after the experienced Francis Omondi called time on his stay at the club. The club had earlier shipped in Ugandan midfielder Sam Kintu to provide options in the defensive midfield but the latter was let go under unclear circumstances.

"We have finished our transfer business following the arrival of the three players. They proved themselves in the training sessions and consequently, have been incorporated in the team. Every department has the required depth and I feel we are ready for the new season," he said.

While the playing unit boasts of numbers, the same can not be said of the technical bench as the management is yet to hire coach Bernard Mwalala's successor.

Mwalala and some members of his backroom staff were relieved of their duties in July after missing out on the league title.

However, Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula says his office will contract a new gaffer possibly before the month ends. The team is currently under the tutelage of veteran tactician Edward Manoah.
