Kahata leaves Tanzanian champions Simba following the expiry of his contract

Kenyan international Francis Kahata has confirmed that he has parted ways with Tanzanian giants, Simba SC after the expiry of his two-year contract.

Kachi is he is affectionately referred to by his fans, joined Simba in June 2019 from Gor Mahia on the Bosman rule.

His first season at Simba was good as he was firmly in the team which lifted the league title.

However, the subsequent one was rather difficult as he was struck off the league register in January this year following the arrival of Perfect Chikwende.

The development meant that the former Thika United midfielder would only be summoned for duty in the CAF Champions League duties which ended last month fater losing 4-3 on aggregate to Kaizer Chiefs in the quarters.

In an Instagram post, the player has now confirmed that he has left the Dar es Salaam based club.

It’s been a journey that is sweet, memorable and bitter since I first landed to this great country Tanzania. I received immense support and love from the executive team led by Mo Dewji, technical staff, playing unit, and Wanasimba fans,” read his post in part.

Despite not getting sufficient playing time under Didier Gomes, Kahata waxed lyrical on the Frenchman and his teammates for their support.

My gratitude goes to the head coach Gomes for the opportunity to represent the Red color, my team mates for the impressive support and everyone who rode with me along the way. I leave with my head held up and proud of my achievements at the club,” he continued.

He went on to thank Simba fans and wished the club well in its future endeavors.

“It has reached a time to say goodbye and bid farewell to all of you. A man has to seek newer challenges and greater opportunities elsewhere. I will forever be grateful to the team for everything and wish everyone all the best in the coming games and seasons. The two years were worth the ride. Asanteni sana wanaSimba na kila la kheri hadi siku ingine palipo Majaliwa. Kahata 25. ADIOS,” he concluded.

Kahata has already been linked with a move to a top Sudanese side.
