Uganda will face off with Rwanda in the first semifinal match to be played in Kisumu from 11PM EAT

The Kenya U18 football national team faces an acid test this afternoon when it comes up against Tanzania in the second semifinal match of the ongoing CECAFA U18 Boys Championship at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.

Tanzania finished second in Group B with 6 points from 3 matches while Kenya finished top in Group A having won all the matches but team captain Amos Wanjala anticipates a very tough encounter against Tanzania.

"It will be a very competitive match but we have prepared very well for it and we are confident of winning. We wanted to keep a clean sheet for the entire tournament but conceded one goal but we will try to ensure we don't concede any more goals. It calls for hard work but we are ready for it," he said.

The promising centerback also admitted they will be under pressure since they are playing at home.

"We need to win. Fans expect nothing less from the home team and we are aware of that. We have prepared well and we hope to get the job done." He concluded.

Head Coach Salim Babu reitarated the captain's sentiments by saying; "We have prepared well and the target from the onset was to get to the finals and therefore the boys are mentally and physically prepared for this challenge."

The game kicks off at 2:30PM EAT. Uganda and Rwanda will battle in the first semifinal from 11AM at the same venue.
