Physiotherapist Boniventure Odire and former goalkeeper trainer Lawrence Webo have sued the club for unlawful dismissal
AFC Leopards officials are scheduled to appear before the Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) on Tuesday afternoon to defend themselves over an unlawful dismissal suit filed by two former members of the club’s technical bench.
Physiotherapist Boniventure Odire and former goalkeeper trainer Lawrence Webo have sued the club after they were dismissed in October.
The matter has been scheduled for hearing on Tuesday afternoon and is among nine matters lined up to be heard by the SDT.
It is not clear how much the two are demanding from the club but sources close to them have revealed they want to be paid Sh.7million between the two of them.
Webo who was at AFC Leopards for close to three years is demanding Ksh 5 million for unlawful dismissal while Odire wants to be paid Ksh 2 million according to our sources.
It will be a big blow to Leopards who are yet to finish paying former coach Patrick Aussems more than Ksh 20million who was awarded by world governing body FIFA.
The club agreed on a payment plan with the Belgian to be allowed to start signing players in the last window. Two weeks ago, it was also revealed that former head coach Tom Juma had written a demand letter to the club demanding Ksh 4.5 Million over unfair dismissal.
Juma was fired alongside Webo and Odire and his place taken over by Thomas Trucha.
Leopards are not strange to such suits and are facing another huge bill especially if the SDT rules in favor of those who have sued.
