Joash Onyango’s Simba secure friendly against Russian giants

Kenyan international Joash Onyango is set to play against Russian giants CSKA Moscow in one of the Simba SC friendlies lined up during their United Arab Emirates training camp.
The former Tanzania Premier League champions jettisoned to Abu Dhabi on Saturday 7 January for a seven-day training camp ahead of the league resumption on Tuesday 17 January.
Wekundu wa Msimbazi opted for a training camp in the Arab nation after being bundled out of the Mapinduzi Cup, a tournament created by the Zanzibar Football Federation to commemorate Zanzibar's Revolution day.
Up first for Simba will be the clash against local side Al Dhafra who are currently anchored to the foot of the UAE Pro league on Friday 13 January in Abu Dhabi at 4 PM (EAT).
The 2021 CAF Champions League quarter finalists will close their UAE tour with a clash against CSKA Moscow on Sunday 15 January at 4 PM (EAT).
The Russian Premier League is currently on a winter break till late February with CSKA Moscow travelling to UAE for warm weather training.
The 2016 Russian champions have lined up friendlies against Orenburg, Partizan, Alania Vladikavkaz, Vejle, Akhmat Grozny, Dynamo Moscow and Simba before the league resumes.
Newly appointed Simba head coach Roberto Oliviera will be looking to use the camp to familiarise himself with his squad before the league resumes against Mbeya City.
