The Kenyan did not travel with Simba to Sudan for a pre-season tournament

Kenyan international and Simba SC central defender Joash Onyango has downed tools in protest and did not travel with the Tanzanian side to Sudan where they are set to play two friendlies.

Simba are set to take on Asante Kotoko of Ghana today before playing Al Hilal of Sudan on Wednesday in the two matches the side is playing in Sudan, with one more friendly against Djibouti's Arta Sola 7 set to be played in Tanzania on Saturday.

According to Tanzania's publication Mwanaspoti, the Kenyan defender was not among the 18 Simba players who arrived in Sudan on Friday afternoon although he was on the list of the players set to travel.

The publication further reports that the former Gor Mahia defender approached Simba's tactician Zoran Minojlovic together with the team manager Patrick Rweyemamu and expressed his dissatisfaction at not being considered in the starting team this season.

Following the arrival of Mohamed Outtarra, Onyango has not featured in any of the two league matches the side has played so far as well as in the Community Shield against rivals Yanga SC, with Minojlovic preferring the central partnership of Outtarra and Henock Inonga.

The 29-year-old defender wants more playing time and could consider terminating his contract with the Tanzanian giants if his wants are not met by the club.
