Ivorian-descent marksman to break Milan's "striker curse"?

Sources from Italy claim Massimiliano Allegri is keen on Fiorentina's Moise Kean, whom he sees as a perfect fit for the Rossoneri's attack in the future

AC Milan's defence is currently the best in the Serie A. After all, that's Massimiliano Allegri's trademark. However, if the Rossoneri want to win the Scudetto again, they'll have to break their "striker curse," which began practically as soon as the legendary duo, Andriy Shevchenko and Filippo Inzaghi, left the club.

In the previous decade, Milan has tried to hit the bullseye with a number of centre-forwards - from the cheaper ones like Gianluca Lapadula and the expensive ones like Andre Silva, to the loaned ones, such as Fernando Torres and Gonzalo Higuain. From experienced players like Olivier Giroud to young, promising ones like Luka Jovic. They have all (more or less) flopped.

In the past few years, the Rossoneri have signed Tammy Abraham, Alvaro Morata, Santiago Gimenez, Christopher Nkunku, and Niclas Fullkrug, but in vain. For instance, the latter two, who are still on the team, combined for only seven goals this season. Hence, something has to be done, and Allegri seems to know what.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan will go for Fiorentina striker and Italy international of Ivorian descent, Moise Kean, next June.

The former Juventus player - and the Old Lady's child - has been the only bright spot in La Viola's squad this season. While the club is struggling and sitting only one point above the relegation zone, Kean is its leading scorer in the campaign with nine goals in all competitions.

The 26-year-old is used to the playing style on the Boot and could be a valuable asset for Milan's roster in the following season, as the Rossoneri are craving a ruthless goalscorer and a third piece in their offensive puzzle, alongside Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao, who scored 10 goals each this season.

Still, aware of his qualities, Fiorentina extended Kean's deal last August, increasing his release clause from €52 million to €62 million.

Nevertheless, this price could be negotiable, especially if the club from Stadio Artemio Franchi ends up in Serie B at the end of the ongoing campaign.

Either way, Milan won't spare any money for Kean, and if they still fail in their quest to bring him, they'll allegedly turn to Borussia Dortmund's Guinean Serhou Guirassy, as an alternative.
