Young Gunner has been called up for England's senior squad
Two goals in four games for Arsenal, some really good displays for the Gunners, some injuries to other England strikers, and here you go – Eddie Nketiah has been called to the senior squad for EURO 2024 qualification games against Ukraine and Scotland. The young Gunner has been a regular player for all England youth teams (U18, U19, U20, U21), and now he will start the games from the bench and hopefully participate a bit and get valuable experience.
Eddie Nketiah says he chose England over Ghana because that felt like the natural progression for his career.

Just being invited to join the senior squad makes Nketiah feel great, and on top of that, he has the opportunity to learn from one of the best in business – Harry Kane. The England captain will be a valuable mentor to the young striker, who couldn’t hide his excitement, but also admitted the relationship will be much easier now, since he is not in Tottenham anymore.
“It’s been really good. He’s a world-class striker. Today was my first session, so I’m sure I will be in his ear all week trying to get tips and learning. It’s a great opportunity to learn, improve myself and see what top strikers do – how they prepare for a game. I’m really looking forward to the week. He’s a great player. I might have a few notes in my phone of questions to ask Kane – let’s see. It’s just good to be here. It makes the conversations a little bit easier, obviously, now he’s made the move over. He’s a fantastic player and I wish him all the best in his new chapter“ said the young Gunner.
But, when he comes back from international duty, Nketiah might find his starting minutes hard to come by since Gabiel Jesus is back to full fitness for Arsenal.
“Gabriel is a fantastic player and a great guy off the pitch so we get on really well. It’s nice to be competing with him. It will only do good things for myself and for him. We both want to do the same thing and help the team. We push each other in training. It’s healthy and friendly competition. We have a good relationship and we support each other“ said Nketiah.
