Italian papers already found replacement for Mourinho

The club denied that they will replace the coach, but the journalists are thinking different

Roma is not doing well at the start of the season. Only two wins in seven rounds have placed Giallorossi in the lower part of the Serie A table, but the goal is to fight for the Champions League. Therefore, European victories remain in the background. And although the club denies that Jose Mourinho's job is in jeopardy, the Italian media lists the names of potential replacements. Allegedly, the number one target of boss Dan Friedkin is the current German coach Hansi Flick. But he is not the only one. Marcelo Gallardo and Igor Tudor are also in the mix. All three are currently out of work, which should make negotiations easier if they happen.

Roma are visiting Sardinia tonight, and yesterday's news was that the Portuguese expert will be fired if they lose. This morning, however, Olimpico, through the agency ANSA, announced that this has nothing to do with the truth and that Mourinho will remain on the bench no matter what happens against Cagliari.

It is clear, however, that if the ranking is not improved as soon as possible, Jose will not stay for long, especially since he himself announced his imminent departure to Saudi Arabia.

"I will go to Saudi Arabia in some free time, but I am convinced that I will work there. I don't know when, but I am pretty sure of it. No one knows the future, but I will definitely do this working in Saudi Arabia. Cristiano was the first to go there and give a different perspective immediately. The players thought at first that it was a one-man show, but they realized in the summer that everything was really changing. Many players — not just at the last period of their careers, but also some players at the best years of their careers — are coming because the competition is real" said Mourinho in an interview with MBC Egypt TV Channel, which is owned by Saudi MBC Group.
