Mourinho could be sacked if he fails to win against Cagliari

Roma has only two wins in seven rounds, with two draws and three losses

The start of the season for Roma is far from ideal, and the stumbles of Gialorossi were partially amortized by two victories at home against Frosinone and Servette. Despite the return to the desired track, the impression is that Jose Mourinho has not convinced the football public that the crisis is in the past for his team. On the contrary, if judging by Corriere Dello Sport’s findings, the Portuguese is actually walking on a razor's edge and a new mishap could cost him his job. According to the information from the Italian newspapers, the owners of Roma are ready to terminate their cooperation with Mourinho if they are left empty-handed in Sunday's meeting with Cagliari.

Truth be told, a defeat against Cagliari would be the highlight of Roma's setbacks since the start of the season, bearing in mind that the bottom-placed Serie A club has won only two points in seven rounds. Considering the terrible results of tomorrow’s opponent, Roma's visit to Cagliari should represent an ideal opportunity for an additional confidence boost, but Gialorossi has shown several times this season that even thou they are considering favorites, the outcome sometimes doesn’t reflect that.

Mourinho recently spoke about the situation he is in, pointing out that he rejected an incredible offer from Saudi Arabia, and on that occasion, he emphasized that he has no intention of leaving the club until the end of his contract, which is valid until next summer. However, the Portuguese is not the only one on whom his future depends. Let's remind you, Mourinho arrived in Rome two seasons ago and already in the first year of competition he won the League Conference trophy. After two very good years, the current crisis followed, so Roma has only two wins in seven rounds, with two draws and three losses.
