Santiago Bernabeu renovation has been completed in time for today's game
Real Madrid will return to the new-look Estadio Santiago Bernabeu today, a stadium that has undergone a transformation that is almost complete. The construction work, which began in 2019, is coming to an end, and the iconic stadium will make its official debut in the 2023/24 season against Getafe, after Real Madrid played their first three matches away from home.
The transformation of the stadium is very noticeable both on the exterior and interior, making it one of the most cutting-edge stadiums in the world of football. One of the crown jewels of this architectural marvel is the retractable roof. This innovative feature, which could be used today due to the forecast of rain for today's match, sets a precedent for future stadium constructions due to the range of possibilities it offers.

It looks like a building from another world - but it's fitting for the biggest club in the world.
Real Madrid are currently enjoying a perfect La Liga away record with three wins, but they face some challenges. Vinicius Junior has suffered a hamstring injury that could keep him out until early October, joining other injured players like Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao.
Despite the setbacks, Los Blancos remains strong, and they are looking to secure their sixth consecutive home victory against Getafe with no goals conceded. They have an excellent record against Getafe at home, with their last loss dating back to February 2008. In La Liga, they haven't lost at the Bernabeu since late April.

Getafe, on the other hand, had a mixed start to the season with one win, one draw, and one loss. Angel Torres' team secured a 1-0 win against Alaves, but their recent away form hasn't been impressive, with one win, four draws, and nine losses. They have also struggled to score goals, failing to find the net in four of their last five away matches.
Overall, Getafe is aware of the tough challenge they face against Real Madrid, but they will at least enjoy playing at one of the nicest stadiums in the world.
