Kakamega Homeboyz have received a major reprieve ahead of their Saturday clash against Ulinzi Stars at Ulinzi Sports Complex with the trio of Alex Imbusia, Potipher Odhiambo and Hillary Otieno all resuming training after shaking off knee and thigh injuries respectively.

However, the Mozzart Bet Cup holders will head into another match day without the services of defender John Otieno, who despite resuming training his week, will need more time on the sidelines before embarking on vigorous football activities as he recovers from heart-related conditions.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Imbusia, who hurt his knee in Abana Abeingo's 2-0 loss to KCB in September, is thrilled to have recovered from the setback and is itching for more playing time after missing seven rounds of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

The injury saw the former Sofapaka man sit out of Homeboyz encounters against Bandari, Talanta, Nzoia Sugar FC, Kariobangi Sharks, Posta Rangers, Muhoroni Youth, and Sofapaka.

Imbusia who resumed training on Monday says he is fit to fight for playing time heading to round twelve matches.

"I am glad to have recovered. I haven't experienced pain in the training sessions I have had with the rest. I am looking forward to fighting for the team in league matches," he told Mozzart Sport.

The winger however player has his work cut out as Kakamega boosts depth on the flanks.

Coach Patrick Odhiambo has been pairing Amwayi Kevin and Sifuna Ambrose on the sides in a bid to maintain the Mozzart Bet-powered club threat on the wings.

Meanwhile, the player has acknowledged competition in reclaiming his slot in the starting team going with the current form of Amwayi, Sifuna, and Stephen Opoku.

"I am aware there is competition for playing time but I am ready to confront it head-on," added Imbusia.
