Leopards fans will be hoping for a quick settlement to avoid a legal battle that would put the club in trouble again as witnessed with Aussems

Immediate former AFC Leopards coach Tom Juma has demanded Ksh 9 million from the Big Cats over the premature termination of his contract, Mozzart Sport has learned.

Juma left the den a month ago after the club’s slow start to the season, having just signed a two-year deal, as a replacement for Belgian tactician Patrick Aussems who stepped down upon the conclusion of the 2022-2023 FKF Premier League

Juma, who has served Ingwe in various capacities among them player, team manager, and assistant coach, was relieved of his duties after six games in charge before Ingwe appointed Tomas Trucha as his replacement.

Reports emerged that the club legend has written to Leopards demanding up to Ksh9 million in pending dues and in an interview with an online publication Leopards Secretary General Gilbert Andugu has acknowledged receipt of a demand letter from their immediate former head coach seeking settlement of arrears arising from the termination of his tenure with the FKF Premier League side.

"Yes, we have received the letter but we can't discuss it now. We are working on it because he had a contract and every contract has an exit clause," said Andugu.

Andugu further noted that the club had already notified their lawyers who are actively involved in scrutinizing Juma’s appointment letter exit clauses and determining the validity of the former Administration Police head coach demand letter.

"Yes, we (AFC Leopards) are working on it. Our legal team is working on it," Andugu who was not willing to disclose much offered.

Leopards fans will be hoping for a quick settlement to avoid a legal battle that would put the club in trouble again as witnessed with Aussems.

Juma’s demands come at a time when former players Collins Shivachi and Robert Mudenyu have threatened to sue the club over pending salary arrears.
