Bayern's chairman openly spoke about the Bayern Munich's striker
A near nine-figure transfer fee for a player entering his late 30s, plus a coach with limited top-level experience… FC Bayern Munich made moves in recent times that raised plenty of eyebrows across the football world—but they’ve turned out to be absolutely spot on. But with fifth-choice Vincent Kompany on the touchline and Harry Kane leading the attack, Bayern are marching toward trophies—and breaking records along the way. One historic milestone could fall immediately after the international break. Bayern are closing in on the legendary 1971/72 team led by Gerd Muller, which scored 101 league goals in a single season. With seven rounds remaining, Kompany’s side need just five more goals to surpass that record—and it seems only a matter of time.
At the heart of it all is Harry Kane, who continues to push boundaries in the Bundesliga season after season. Bayern’s chairman of the supervisory board Uli Hoeness spoke about the England’s captain.
“It was a bit of a risk spending 100 million euros on him. But he’s been incredible for us. If you look at price-to-performance ratio, I’d say he’s worth 150 million. But then you see that Alexander Isak cost Liverpool 150 million. And if he’s worth 150 million, then Harry is worth 250 million euros” said Hoeness for Kicker.
However, Bayern’s supremo didn’t rule out parting ways with Harry Kane in the future. But, the conditions would have to be very special.
“He didn’t exercise his release clause, which means he’s definitely under contract here until June 2027. What I’m hearing and feeling is that he and his family feel extremely comfortable here. You never know when a Saudi comes along and puts a lot of money on the table…but he feels very much at home. Harry Kane can play at this level for at least another three or four years, because he’s a perfect professional who takes care of his body. He’s always at rehab and with the physios” said Hoeness.
