When Sofapaka hosted Gor Mahia in a league match on Saturday, 10 April 2025 at the Dandora Stadium, one name was conspicuously missing from the team sheet - Enock Morrison, the Gor Mahia Ghanaian midfield star.
With the match providing an opportunity for K'Ogalo to go top of the FKF Premier League table, it was a pivotal match that Morrison's absence raised eyebrows, with many speculating that he was sidelined with injury.
Speaking to Azam TV presenter Elijah Momanyi after the match, Morrison disclosed that he was fit for the encounter but was not selected.
"I am very fine and fit, I trained the whole week, but didn't find myself on the list. I know we have very good players in the squad, and if I am not there, someone else can do the job,” said Morrison.
Nevertheless, the former Asante Kotoko midfielder threw his weight behind the team and backed them for the title.
The 25-year-old midfielder is optimistic that K'Ogalo will shoot to the league summit in their next FKF Premier League game.
“We have another league match in the midweek, which is an opportunity to go top of the table, so I would tell Gor Mahia fans to calm down as we are still in the title race,” he stated.
In the highly contested match, Joshua Onyango gave Gor Mahia the lead in the 68th minute, finding the back of the net from an Austin Odhiambo free kick to give K'Ogalo the hope of ending the weekend on top of the table.
However, the tables turned in the first minute of added time when Edward ‘Ondimo’ Omondi went past the Gor Mahia defense and from the byline, brought in a low cross that Douglas Kibet slotted home to silence the fans that filled the Dandora Stadium.
Gor Mahia will host FC Talanta on Wednesday, 23 April, in their next league match.
