The coastal side has alreay kissed the Mozzart Bet Cup goodbye and will need a sporting miracle to recover from the poor run and clinch the league crown

Under pressure, Bandari head coach Kennedy Odhiambo has a match to save his job at the coastal top-flight club.

Bandari have been underwhelming in the second leg of the campaign, a run that has seen the club exit the Mozzart Bet Cup and hopes for the maiden league title extinguished.

The Dockers sustained a good run for the better part of the first leg to the extent of being considered serious enough to challenge for the league title.

The money splashed in the mid-season transfer window suggested that the club was strengthening the playing unit in a bid to win the two major titles on offer.

However, the ride has not been cosy in the past two months, and could see Odhiambo’s fate sealed if the club loses this weekend’s fixture against Kariobangi Sharks FC.

Club Chief Executive Officer Tony Kibwana confirmed that the management had given Odhiambo two matches (against Kakamega Homeboyz and Kariobangi Sharks) to turn fortunes around.

Having lost 1-0 to Homeboyz on Sunday in front of home fans, the CAF A licensed tactician will hope to guide his charges to a win against Sharks and keep his job.

“We have given him sufficient time to fix the problem, and I can confirm that we are at the point of making a decision. This is dependent on how the team will perform in the next game,” confirmed Kibwana.

The administrator struggled to identify the source of the poor run that could potentially see the club finish in the bottom half of the log if the technical bench does not arrest the poor run.

Kibwana was at pains to express his disappointment at investing heavily in both the off and mid-season transfer windows, only for the club to finish trophy-less.

One of the reasons why we hired coach Ken was to ensure that the club does not capitulate in the second half. We gave him everything he needed and signed the players he recommended. We were even willing to spend more. Unfortunately, the second leg problems we have encountered in the past are here with us again despite hiring Ken and the heavy investments,” lamented Kibwana.

Efforts to get Odhiambo’s thoughts on the unwanted run of results were futile.
