Speaking ahead of their 2025/26 season opener against Mathare United, the veteran tactician stressed the importance of mental resilience, drawing lessons from last season when the club teetered on the brink of relegation.
Posta survived the drop by the skin of their teeth, edging National Super League (NSL) side Naivas FC 2-1 in a tense two-legged playoff.
That narrow escape was set against the backdrop of severe financial strain, with players and technical staff going for as long as five months without salaries.
The former Harambee Stars defender is determined to ensure that such off-pitch challenges do not derail his side’s fight on the pitch this term.
According to him, instilling grit in both the retained squad and new arrivals is key to bridging the gap between adversity and performance.
"We had one particular challenge, the financial aspect, which affects many teams, but last season it hit us hard. I sat down with the new players, as well as those we retained, and we spoke candidly about resources.
"I wanted to mentally prepare them for the realities at the club while also challenging them to give their best regardless. They all agreed to fight and give solid performances,” he noted.
Pamzo added that there is renewed optimism following talks with the management, who have pledged full support. He also pointed to the presence of new sponsors for the league as a cushion, offering hope that financial hitches may not bite as deeply as in previous campaigns.
Posta, however, will march into the new season without several of their standout performers from last year.
Club top scorer Felix Oluoch sealed a move to record champions Gor Mahia, while midfielder Shami Kibwana joined Mozzart Bet Cup holders Nairobi United.
Promising goalkeeper Kevin Ouru departed for Mathare United, with winger Curtis Wekesa signing for Tusker FC.
Despite those exits, the Mailmen have been busy in the transfer market. Among the notable additions are an experienced quartet of Elvis Osok, Frederick Otinda, Shem Oluoch, and Dimpol Omamo from Shabana.
Brian Yakhama arrives from AFC Leopards, while Kevin Juma, Elvis Noor, and Maxwell Odada join from Nairobi City Stars.
Posta also welcomed back Jackson Dwang from Bandari, as well as Bernard Odhiambo and Kharisa Ponda from FC Talanta and Naivas FC, respectively.
Pamzo acknowledged the difficulty of losing key players but expressed confidence in the quality of his reinforcements.
"It’s always painful to lose your best assets, but at the same time, it shows we are developing talent that others want.
"We have replaced them with equally capable players, including exciting young ones who, once they find their rhythm in a few games, will become solid assets to the team,” he said
Another positive for Posta is the return of captain Caleb Olilo, who missed much of last season due to a persistent knee injury.
His comeback is expected to provide both leadership and stability in midfield.
"We have been boosted by the return of Olilo. He has fully recovered, is back in contention, and his presence will be a huge addition for us,” Pamzo affirmed.
