Harambee Stars striker to contest for political seat in 2027 General Elections

Kenyan international Masud Juma has declared his bid to contest for the Member of Parliament (MP), Isiolo North Constituency in the 2027 General Elections.

Juma, who currently plies his trade in Lebanon with Nejmeh FC, is a native of the former Eastern Province.

The forward announced through his Instagram account, where he highlighted the key pillars of his candidature.

The first of the six pillars of the 29-year-old candidate is youth opportunities.

He intends to focus on skills training, jobs, and support for entrepreneurship.

The former Shabana FC forward will also campaign on a platform of better infrastructure in the constituency, including hospitals, roads, clean water, and electricity.

Jumas has promised to focus on sports development by nurturing talent and using grassroots activities to fight crime and drug abuse.

Additionally, Juma is pledging good governance and non-tolerance of corruption.

Meanwhile, Juma, who has had professional stints in Morocco, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, and Iran, will be seeking votes on the basis of unity and justice,

However, the former Kariobangi Sharks man did not declare the party on which he will be running or whether he will contest as an independent candidate.

Juma was part of the Harambee Stars squad that competed in the recently concluded 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in August.
