How much it will cost candidates to contest for Gor Mahia electoral positions

A statement signed by electoral board chair Githu Wahome listed a raft of requirements on Wednesday
Gor Mahia electoral board has released the electoral fees that candidates vying for various club positions must pay in order to be cleared to run for the elections.
After a long wait, the Gor Mahia elections are fast approaching, with the elections set for Sunday 13 April 2025 at the Nyayo National Stadium, Basketball Gymnasium, Nairobi from 0900 hrs to 1400 hrs.
With candidates interested in various positions continuing to campaign among fans, the electoral board has issued various requirements that candidates must meet.
In a statement signed by Githu Wahome, the chairperson of the electoral board, the board has set the non refundable electoral fees as follows:
Chairman — KSh500,000
Vice Chair — KSh450,000
Secretary General — KSh400,000
Honorary Treasurer — KSh400,000

Those wishing to vie for positions at the club on April 13, below info might be relevant.
*Non-refundable fee:
1) Chairman — Sh500,000
2) Vice Chair — Sh450,000
3 ) Secretary General — Sh400,000
4) Treasurer — Sh400,000

Apart from the electoral fee, candidates vying for the four club positions must meet the requirements of article 11 of the Gor Mahia constitution (2019), which includes that a candidate has to be an active member of the club for the last three years.
The candidate must also be a registered member of the club and be nominated by at least 20 branches or 20 registered members who have not endorsed/ nominated another member.
Additionally, the candidate Must be above 18 Years, and of sound mind and procedure through availing;
- A certificate of good conduct not more than 6 months.
- Credit Reference Bureau clearance certificate .
- A valid KRA tax compliance certificate
- EACC clearance certificate.
- Kenya national Identity club/valid passport.
- HELB clearance certificate
- Colored passport photograph.
- Proof of payment of nomination fee.
Registration of members was closed on Monday 31 March with only those registered by that time eligible to vote.
While the elections have attracted various candidates, more eyes will be on the chairperson position, which has so far attracted the incumbent Dr. Ambrose Rachier and Dolfina Odhiambo, who is the current treasurer.
Rachier, who has been at the helm of Gor Mahia for the last 17 years, said he has only served one term under the Sports Act and is therefore eligible for another term.
