Terem Moffi, 23, is rapidly gaining respect in France after fighting for his place underneath the sun in Lithuania

Eight goals in the opening ten rounds and a deserved place in the All-African Mozzart Sport Team of the Week. It speaks for itself. And it tells the story of Terem Moffi's incredible season so far, as the Nigerian forward is making a massive statement in Ligue 1 for Lorient.

The 23-year-old was born in Calabar back in 1999 and left Nigeria to join Buckswood Football Academy in England at the age of 17. From there, his journey was quite odd, as he moved to a tiny ex-USSR country Lithuania, known for prolific basketball but not football at all.

After a short stint with Kauno Zalgiris, he joined Riteriai but had visa issues that delayed his debut. He eventually scored 20 goals in 29 league games and transferred to Kortrijk in January 2020. On 1 October 2020, he signed with Lorient in the French Ligue 1.

And from that moment on, Moffi's fairytale kickstarted...

At the moment, he's jointly the second top scorer of Ligue 1 with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Moffi is currently valued at €12M (according to Transfermarkt), and the time's on his side.

So far, he has appeared eight times for the Super Eagles, netting three times. This is Terem Moffi's world we're living in!
