
Hosts Kenya to face Sudan, Rwanda in CECAFA U-18 Boys Championships

The CECAFA U-18 Boys Championship will be held in Kenya from November 25th to December 9th, 2023
Hosts Kenya have been drawn in Group A of the CECAFA U-18 Boys Championship slated to take place November 25th to December 9th, 2023.
The draw was conducted by the CECAFA Competitions Director, Yussuf Mossi on Wednesday at the FUFA Technical Centre on the sidelines of the CECAFA U-15 Boys Championship in Njeru, Uganda
Kenya have been placed alongside Somalia, Rwanda, Sudan and Djibouti for Group A to be based in Kisumu, while Group B has Tanzania, Zanzibar, South Sudan and Uganda.
"We shall have the best two teams from each group qualify for the semi finals. The semi finals and final will all be played in Kisumu,” added Mossi.
However, after the draw had been conducted, the Djibouti Football Federation (FDF) General Secretary, Youssouf Ahmed communicated that they have withdrawn their team from the CECAFA U-18 Boys Championship.
The Kenya U18 side will be handled by Salim Babu as the head coach who will be assisted by Bidco United coach Anthony Akhulia and St Anthony's Kitale tactician Peter Mayoyo.
Group A: Kenya, Somalia, Rwanda, Sudan
Group B: Tanzania, Zanzibar, South Sudan, Uganda
