Chelsea have already spent around €200 million on forwards, but that didn't stop them from going for one of the most talented Bundesliga playmakers
Liverpool set the bar very high in the ongoing transfer window, spending over €300 million, but Chelsea won't give up so easily. So far, the Blues have spent around €200 million on forwards (Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, Estevao, and Liam Delap), but that didn't stop them from going for one of the most talented Bundesliga players - Xavi Simons.

The recently crowned World Champions have already contacted the player's representatives, trying to "set the stage" for starting negotiations with Red Bull Leipzig. The Germans reportedly demand €70 million, though the Blues will definitely try to bargain for a better price.
Simons permanently joined the Bundesliga side last January from Paris Saint-Germain, although he had spent the previous two seasons on loan at Leipzig. They paid him €50 million, so they could earn a decent amount after only six months.
Last season, the 22-year-old Dutchman recorded 11 goals and eight assists in 33 games in all competitions and scored as many Bundesliga goals as Florian Wirtz, whom Liverpool brought from Bayer Leverkusen for almost double the price Leipzig demand for Simons (€125 million).
