The Times reveals that Les Parisiens were preoccupied with how and where they would collect the trophy
It is too crazy to be true, yet nevertheless...
Chelsea were apparently informed that Paris Saint-Germain are seriously debating how they should celebrate the FIFA Club World Cup title, ahead of the showdown which ended in Chelsea's triumph (3-0).
As per The Times, on the eve of the final, at a FIFA-organised dinner involving both clubs, the Blues' delegation noticed how occupied PSG's representatives were with discussing the logistics of their trophy celebration.
Les Parisiens were preoccupied with how and where they would collect the trophy. Chelsea's boss, Enzo Maresca, was informed about this strange overconfidence. The Italian tactician passed the information onto the players, who seemingly took it to heart.
Interestingly, tension between the two sides was visible even after the final whistle, as the Saints' coach, Luis Enrique, joined the players' clash and hit Chelsea's Joao Pedro during that confrontation.
Speaking on the incident, Luis Enrique said: "This was completely avoidable at the end, my goal was always to separate footballers, there was a lot of tension and pressure, there was a whole bunch of pushing that we should all try to avoid. My intention is to avoid it getting worse."
