The legendary Frenchman is well aware of the challenges his younger compatriot is facing at the moment
Kylian Mbappe scored eight goals in his opening 13 games with Real Madrid. Still, legendary Thierry Henry warned him that he needed to make an even more serious impact if he wanted to feel the support of the fans and media.
Despite those goals, the former Paris Saint-Germain star has yet to convince Henry that he's capable of repeating his PSG levels.
The ex-Arsenal icon told CBS Sports that he believes the AS Monaco academy product is yet to replicate the levels he showed during his seven-year stint at Parc des Princes.
"Is he playing the best that we have seen him playing from his days at PSG? No. He still has to learn. He needs to play better as a No.9, which is very difficult for him at the minute. He is scoring goals, but that isn't enough at times at clubs like that (Real Madrid). I will play the devil's advocate: we always say it takes time for a player to adapt to a new club, but unfortunately, when you wear that jersey, they don't give you a lot of time," said Henry.
