With no competitive fixtures lined up for the break, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) had initially announced two friendlies against Madagascar and Comoros, both scheduled to take place in Turkey. The Stars were set to play Madagascar on November 14 before meeting Comoros on either November 17 or 18.
However, plans appear to have changed, with one of the matches likely to be dropped to accommodate Senegal. The Senegalese FA announced that their team will play Kenya on November 18 at 15:00 GMT (6pm EAT) at the Mardan Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey.
“Senegal will play a second friendly match this November 2025. It will take place on November 18 at 15:00 GMT against Kenya at the Mardan Sports Complex in Antalya (Turkey),” read a statement from the Senegalese federation.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides since the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt, where Senegal defeated Kenya 3-0 in a group stage match on their way to the final, which they eventually lost to Algeria. The two nations also met at the 2004 AFCON, with Kenya suffering a similar 3-0 loss.
Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy has already named his squad for the friendly matches in Turkey. Youngsters Aldrine Kibet and Baron Ochieng are among the notable inclusions, while several players such as Ovella Ochieng and Jonah Ayunga make their return. Captain Michael Olunga is the major absentee, having been left out despite not carrying an injury.
