The jump comes after Kenya recorded a perfect record in the March international friendlies

Kenya men's national team - Harambee Stars - have climbed up four places in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday from position 111 to 107 (1191.24 points) in the world.

The rise by Engin Firat’s team comes after its exploits in last month’s Four Nations Tournament, where Kenya defeated both Malawi - ranked 125th - and Zimbabwe - 122nd - to the main trophy on 27 March.

Kenya had in early February dropped one place from 110th owing to lack of activity during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, but have now turned a positive corner as the nation readies up for two crucial 2026 World Cup Qualifying fixtures in June.

Harambee Stars will now seek to carry on the momentum from their wins - 4-0 against Malawi and 3-1 versus Zimbabwe - when they host Burundi and Ivory Coast on 3 and 10 June respectively.

Kenya currently sits third place in Group F with a win from their two matches played last year.

In matters Africa, Harambee Stars have climbed up two places to 24th in the continent, surpassing both Madagascar and Mozambique who are now directly below them.

The same cannot be said for East African rivals Uganda and Tanzania, who did not make any movements, remaining transfixed on positions 92 and 119 respectively.

North African giants Morocco despite a one-place-drop still remain the top-ranked country in Africa in 13th spot, followed by Senegal who are 17th.

Africa Cup of Nations finalists Nigeria wrap up Africa's top three in 30th place, with the biggest jump in the continent going to Libya who rose from position 120 to 114th in the world.
