Talented left-back is now tied for the Catalans until 2028
Gavi, Pedri, Ronald Araujo, Ferran Torres and several other players on whom the Spanish champion plans to build their future have been locked in long-term contracts and high buyout clauses, and Alejandro Balde has joined that list. The 20-year-old left back has signed a new contract with the club until 2028, if someone wants to take the Spanish representative, they will have to pay one billion euros!

With this astronomical buyout clause, Barca managed to cool of Manchester City's interest for the player. The Citizens were seriously interested in Balde last summer, but the Catalans categorically rejected any possibility of being left without one of the most promising players in the team. His contract lasted until 2024, and if he hadn't extended it, he would have been able to negotiate with other clubs about a potential transfer from January 2024 as a free agent.
Since making his debut for Barca's senior team, the left back with Guinea-Bissau descent played 56 times for the club. Since the age of eight, Balde has been a member of La Masia, which means that he has already been in the club's system for 12 years. In the meantime, the invitation of the strongest Spanish team, of which he was a member at the World Cup in Qatar, also arrived.
Another, equally important job for Barca must be completed soon. Wunderkind Lamine Jamal's contract expires in June next year and the main task is to get it extended in the next couple of months. The leaders, headed by President Joan Laporte, have already spoken with the parents and according to the media in Spain, there should not be any problems from that side. It's a great start to the season for Barcelona, who won 13 out oft the possible 15 points from the previous five La Liga rounds, along with the 5:0 thrashing of Antwerp at the start of the Champions League. Combined with the affirmation of many young players along the way, the Blaugrana supporters can be very satisfied.
