He was one step away from Liverpool, which he described as the club of his childhood dreams, but now he stands on the verge of joining the Spanish giant
Marc Guehi seems to have set his sights on the next chapter of his career – and the destination might surprise many. Instead of continuing in the Premier League or heading to the Bundesliga, the Crystal Palace defender is reportedly aiming for Spain. As noted by the Mirror, the England international intends to run down his contract with the "Eagles" and make a free move to Real Madrid next summer.
Insiders suggest that Guehi has already made up his mind. His representatives have been informed of his wish to wear the famous white shirt, while Real have quietly started initial talks in the background. Interest in the centre-back was intense just a few months ago: Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Barcelona all chased him.
Guehi had even reached an agreement with the "Reds," with the transfer almost sealed – only for it to collapse dramatically at the very end.
The man who reportedly stood in the way was coach Oliver Glasner. The Austrian refused to green-light the deal and is even said to have threatened resignation if his defensive leader was sold. For Guehi, the blocked move was a heavy blow. Still, he has now turned the page, and one thing is certain: his future won’t be at Selhurst Park. A contract renewal is no longer an option – he wants out.
And where to? The answer is clear: not Liverpool, not Bayern, not Barcelona – but Real Madrid! Should the transfer happen, Guehi will be set to join the Santiago Bernabeu in 2026.

His record so far speaks for itself: 137 Premier League matches, seven goals, four assists, and 25 caps for England since debuting in March 2022. Just recently, he netted his first goal for the Three Lions in a 5-0 victory over Serbia.
Having come through Chelsea’s academy, gone out on loan at Swansea City, and moved to Crystal Palace for 23 million euros in 2021, Guehi may now be on the verge of taking the biggest leap of his career – to the royal stage of Real Madrid.
