The club took to their social media accounts to reveal the revenue realized from the high octane match.

“We managed to collect Ksh320,200 in today's match against Homeboyz. A huge thanks to every fan who squeezed time from their tight mid-week schedules to be with us. Your presence makes all the difference,” revealed Gor Mahia treasurer Gerphas Okuku.

The amount represents a sharp drop from the Ksh7,011,500 collected by the club in their last home match, the Mashemeji Derby pitting them against their arch-rivals, AFC Leopards on Sunday, 7 December.

The Ksh6,691,300 difference between the two matches represents a 95.43% drop in revenue in matches that were played 10 days apart.

The drip can be attributed to the fact that the Mashemeji Derby is Kenyan football’s biggest fixture, bringing together the two most supported clubs and therefore attracts fans from both sides.

The Derby also attracts fans from other teams as well as passive fans, who do not necessarily attend other league matches.

Additionally, the Kakamega Homeboyz match was held in midweek, preventing a good number of fans from attending due to work commitments.

Furthermore, the Wednesday afternoon revenue is also the lowest that the 21-time league champions have recorded this season.

It was close to the Ksh360,400 that the team realized during their devastating 4-1 loss to APS Bomet in the other midweek clash held on Tuesday 25 November 2025.

Back to the Homeboyz clash, Alpha Onyango’s strike outside the box in the 19th minute was all that K’Ogalo needed to get back to winning ways, overcoming a bad run of two losses and a draw.
