The rescheduled clash was a classical case of time wasting in football, much to the disappointment of fans.

After Posta took the lead in the seventh minute through Jackson Macharia, they opted to wound up the clock with every moment of restart, whether from a throw ball, goal kick or a foul.

However, it was worse in the second half when goalkeeper Bixente Otieno went down without any contact, forcing play to be stopped for over five minutes and earning a yellow card for time wasting.

A few minutes later, he went down again without any contact but this time, he had to be substituted, antics that did not sit well with the fans as well as Akonnor.

“Football is 90 minutes. In the first half, we played about 30 minutes, the same as the second half and that is not good for football. For those who spent their money, it was not a good show. Even to the media,” said Akonnor.

Nevertheless, the former Black Stars head coach admitted to his side's inefficiency in the match that ended in a 1-1 draw with Enenezer Assifuah grabbing a 90th minute equalizer for the Kenyan giants.

“We did not start the match well, we were sluggish in the way we pushed the ball and lacked the freshness to play but again sometimes you have a bad day but still have to push as we did. A loss would have been bad for us,” he stated.

The 51-year-old went ahead to reveal Posta’s set up that troubled Gor Mahia.

They sat deep and attacked through counter attacks and transitions which still caused us problems.”

As it stands, K’Ogalo are still at the summit of the log with 50 points, seven more than their arch-rivals AFC Leopards, who have played a match less.
