Infantino sent a congratulatory message to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President, applauding Gor Mahia for their consistency and determination throughout the season.

In a letter addressed to the FKF boss Hussein Mohammed, Infantino praised the record Kenyan champions for reclaiming the league crown after a fiercely contested campaign.

Congratulations to Gor Mahia FC. Dear President,

By means of this letter, I am pleased to congratulate the recently crowned champions of Kenya, Gor Mahia FC!

Their constant efforts and results throughout the season have paid off, resulting in this important title. Congratulations to every member of the team and of the club for this great achievement.

While thanking you and your federation for your continuous support, work, and dedication to the development of football in your country, I look forward, dear President, to seeing you again soon,” read part of the statement from the FIFA President.

Infantino’s message comes just days after Gor were officially crowned FKF Premier League champions for the 2025/26 season.

K’Ogalo secured the title last Sunday after their bitter rivals and closest challengers, AFC Leopards, suffered a 2-1 defeat to APS Bomet at Kericho Green Stadium.

The result mathematically handed Gor Mahia the championship before the final round of fixtures.

The triumph saw Gor Mahia clinch a record-extending 22nd league title, further cementing their status as Kenya’s most successful football club.

It also marked a strong return to domestic dominance after enduring a rare trophyless campaign last season, when they finished second behind eventual champions Kenya Police FC.

Under the guidance of head coach Charles Akonnor, Gor Mahia produced an impressive league campaign in a closely contested title race.

The Kenyan giants are set to be officially crowned champions on Sunday, 31 May, at Nyayo National Stadium when they face Nairobi United in their final match of the season.

Gor could finish the season on 72 points and potentially end on an eight-point commanding lead at the summit should they defeat Nairobi United and Leopards fail to secure victory against already relegated Bidco United.
