Ngala is no stranger to the K’Ogalo family, having served the club for years in various capacities, most notably as Assistant Secretary-General until 2020, when the role was scrapped after amendments to the club’s constitution.

He had initially expressed interest in contesting for the Secretary-General’s seat but later opted out, paving the way for Sam Ochola to be elected unopposed.

The newly created Administrative Secretary position comes with undefined responsibilities, but in a statement, the club noted that Ngala will “offer the required support across all levels.” His appointment is part of a broader restructuring process at Gor Mahia as the club looks to bounce back from a disappointing 2024/25 campaign.

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ronald Ngala as the new Administration Manager to offer required support across all levels. The manager will be reporting to the CEO set to be appointed,” read the statement.

Gor Mahia endured a trophyless season for the first time in nine years, with the low point being a defeat to then second-tier side Nairobi United in the Mozzart Bet Cup final. In response, the club hierarchy undertook sweeping changes, disbanding the entire technical bench, medical staff, security team, and part of the playing unit.

As part of the rebuild, the club has appointed Ghanaian coach Charles Akonnor to lead the new technical bench and bolstered the squad with high-profile signings, many driven by deputy patron Eliud Owalo.

The club is also expected to name a new CEO in the coming weeks, with former KPL CEO Jack Oguda among the frontrunners for the role.
