Just when we thought he had calmed down in his later playing years, Luis Suárez showed that the bully mentality never left him
He’s an outstanding footballer, but he can be extremely unfair to opponents and a terrible sore loser. Luis Suarez has had a remarkable career, yet instead of enjoying its twilight at Inter Miami—playing alongside his best friend Lionel Messi and several former Barcelona teammates—the Uruguayan once again showed his ugly side.

After the infamous bites on Giorgio Chiellini and Branislav Ivanovic, as well as racial insults aimed at Patrice Evra, Suarez has added yet another stain to his on-field achievements. And there have been plenty of goals and trophies. But following the American League Cup final, the 38-year-old striker committed perhaps the most repulsive act of his career: he spat directly in the face of Seattle’s assistant coach.
The Seattle Sounders cruised to a commanding 3-0 win over Inter Miami in the Leagues Cup final, securing their first-ever trophy in the competition. Yet as the Sounders began celebrating, Miami forward Luis Suarez reacted poorly to the defeat.

Moments after the final whistle, Suarez ignited tensions by grabbing celebrating Obed Vargas and putting him in a headlock. The incident quickly spiraled into a larger melee, with both teams confronting each other and defender Yeimar stepping in to try and break it up.
The chaos didn’t stop there. Suarez reportedly got in the face of a member of the Sounders’ staff—likely someone from security—and video footage appears to show him spitting at the staff member. As tempers flared, other players from both sides became involved.

At one point, Miami defender Maximiliano Falcon held Seattle defender Cody Baker, who hadn’t even played that day, in a headlock. Shoving and heated exchanges spread across the pitch as players attempted to separate teammates or retaliate.
Eventually, the situation reached a point where Suarez, the original provocateur, was knocked to the ground.
