Game, set & match - Barca! Flick's demolition squad dismantle Bats

Lopez, Raphinha, and Lewandowski scored a brace each in the Catalans' overwhelming victory over Valencia - 6-0

Hansi Flick was quite angry with the Spain national team and its boss, Luis de la Fuente, as he was deprived of Lamine Yamal's help in a clash against Valencia due to the 18-year-old's back injury he suffered on international duty.

However, he'll be much more satisfied after the performance the rest of his boys put in last night. Despite a number of wasted chances during the first half, Barcelona kept grinding after the break, and things started to fall into place.

Only Fermin Lopez's 29th-minute opener separated the two sides at the break, but once it started raining, it poured for the Catalans.

Lopez completed a brace in the 56th minute, while Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski became the first pair of subs to bag braces in the same match. The Brazilian hit the mark in the 53rd and 66th minutes (after replacing Roony Bardghji at the break), and the Pole entered the game in the 68th minute for Ferran Torres and found the net eight and 18 minutes later.

This was Barca's most convincing triumph since January, when they also dismantled Valencia 7-1, but Flick's team still sits in second La Liga place, two points behind the impeccable Real Madrid.

Nevertheless, Blaugrana won't have much time to rest, as they'll face Newcastle at St. James' Park on Thursday in their first Champions League match in the new campaign.
