The new, revamped deal was signed on Tuesday morning, marking the sixth year of collaboration between the two entities

Barely two days after Mozzart Bet, the leading gaming firm, renewed and revamped their deal with Kakamega Homeboyz, the club put on their best performance of the year, routing Bidco United 4–1 at St. Sebastian Park.

The league encounter, staged on Friday afternoon, saw Homeboyz produce a dominant display, securing maximum points and keeping their slim title hopes alive.

Moments after putting pen to paper, Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula insisted that the club was far from giving up in their pursuit of the Premier League title.

Goals from Rodgers Ouma, Henry Omollo, Glen Masava and substitute Zinedine Wesonga sealed an emphatic victory that not only restored Homeboyz to winning ways, but also significantly tightened the screws in the title race, reducing the deficit to league leaders Gor Mahia to just nine points.

For Homeboyz, three points were non-negotiable.

Chasing an elusive first-ever league crown, they arrived in Murang’a knowing anything less than victory would derail their silverware ambitions.

On the opposite end, Bidco, languishing near the foot of the table, just two points above Sofapaka and winless in 14 matches, were desperate to breathe life into a season spiraling toward relegation danger.

The match burst into life with both sides showing attacking intent.

Bidco threatened first in the sixth minute when Collins Akite connected with Thomas Wainaina’s delivery, but his volley drifted wide.

Homeboyz responded with authority. Oliver Majaka tested goalkeeper Issa Emuria after latching onto Henry Omollo’s cut-back, but the shot was kept out.

Moments later, midfielder Rodgers Ouma, showing the pedigree of a three-time league champion, controlled Shafik Batambuze’s pass with his chest, danced into the penalty area, and narrowly missed the upright.

The visitors’ mounting pressure eventually told at the quarter-hour mark.

A swift counterattack, meticulously orchestrated from the back, saw Potiphar Odhiambo release Peter Thiong’o, who quickly switched play to John Omondi on the right.

Omondi’s pinpoint cross found Ouma rising highest to power home past Emuria for a deserved opener.

With confidence surging, the 2023 Mozzart Bet Cup champions continued to dictate tempo.

Glen Masava nearly doubled the advantage with a looping effort, while Odhiambo rattled the upright with a thunderous header.

Ten minutes before the break, persistence paid off again.

Masava intercepted possession in midfield and fed Omollo, who showed composure and strength to shrug off his marker before drilling a fierce low drive beyond Emuria to make it 2-0.

Bidco attempted a response through Wainaina, but Ibrahim Wanzala was alert between the sticks.

Homeboyz, however, remained relentless, and only wasteful finishing from Majaka prevented an even heavier halftime deficit.

Upon resumption, Homeboyz maintained their dominance.

Peter Thiong’o came close ten minutes into the second half, but Emuria produced a fine left-footed save.

Majaka also headed narrowly wide as the visitors threatened to run riot.

Bidco had a rare opportunity to claw one back when substitute David Kalama fired goalward, only to be denied by Wanzala.

Midway through the half, the contest was effectively settled.

Masava showcased individual brilliance, dispossessing his marker, gliding past the defense, and unleashing a thunderbolt that struck the post before bouncing in, an emphatic third that deflated the hosts.

Bidco managed a consolation through Marvin Amuka five minutes later, offering brief hope to the home faithful. But Homeboyz were not done.

Substitute and new signing Zinedine Wesonga marked his introduction in style, tapping in Thiong’o’s inviting cross with his very first touch to complete the rout and underline the visitors’ superiority.

The final whistle confirmed more than just three points.

For Kakamega Homeboyz, it was a statement victory, clinical, composed, and commanding.

The gap at the summit now stands at three points, breathing fresh belief into their championship dream.

For Bidco United, however, the nightmare deepens. A 15th consecutive match without victory leaves them entrenched in the relegation dogfight, with confidence and time steadily running out.
