From Manchester to Chelsea, for a fee many would call excessive...
Last night, another long-running transfer saga finally came to an end. Chelsea may not have landed both players they originally targeted, but they’re certain to get one.
Once Xavi Simons chose North London, the Blues stepped up their efforts and wrapped up negotiations with Manchester United for Alejandro Garnacho. The terms: a fee of around 45 million euros for the Red Devils, a seven-year contract for the young Argentine, and a salary significantly higher than what he earned at Old Trafford—though the exact figure hasn’t been revealed.

According to the always well-informed David Ornstein of The Athletic, medicals are scheduled for today, meaning only a potential red flag from Chelsea’s doctors could derail the deal at this stage.
Talks between Chelsea and United had dragged on for over a month. The London club started with an offer of 30 million euros, while United stood firm at 50 million euros for weeks, before the sides finally settled at 40 million euros.
An agreement was also reached for United to receive 10 percent of any future profit from Garnacho’s next transfer.
Interestingly, the Argentine will become the fourth-most expensive sale in the history of the famous club...
