Four Cityzens refund fans' ticket costs after humiliating loss in Norway

A class move, but it wouldn't have been necessary if Pep Guardiola's men hadn't embarrassed themselves against Bodo/Glimt last night

Manchester City last night delivered the biggest surprise in the current Champions League campaign and one of the major ones in this decade in the elite European competition. Unfortunately for their fans, that surprise was extremely unpleasant - a genuine upset.

The Norwegian Bodo/Glimt shocked Pep Guardiola's crew 3-1, as the Manchester side lost to a team from a city with fewer residents than the Etihad Stadium's capacity!

The 8,270-seat Aspmyra Stadium was almost packed, mainly with the home fans, of course, while 374 people in the stands were the visitors' supporters who travelled to Norway from England.

Yet, given that the outcome was by no means the one they hoped for and considering City's epic embarrassment, the four team captains, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Erling Haaland, and Rodri, decided to thank their most loyal fans by covering their ticket costs.

"We know the sacrifice that our fans make when they travel across the world to support us home and away and we will never take it for granted. They are the best fans in the world."

"We also recognise that it was a lot of travelling for the fans who supported us in the freezing cold throughout a difficult evening for us on the pitch."

"Covering the cost of these tickets for the fans who travelled to Bodo is the least we can do," the four said in a message for the supporters, as reported by BBC.

The amount is minor for the players earning millions, about €10,000, but it was still a class act.

Still, the fans would rather not have gotten a single penny, as it would mean the Cityzens won the match. This way, they'll have to settle for some money and the respect the players paid them.
