Fortune return to the second tier after a season in the third division.

Fortune Sacco has been promoted back to the National Super League after defeating MOFA FC 3-0 in an FKF Division One League playoff game played on Saturday afternoon at Dandora Stadium.

Heading into the game, both teams were out to secure a National Super League berth after missing out on automatic promotion places.

Fortune lost the slot to 3K FC despite heading into the final day as FKF Division One Zone A leaders. The loss to Omax FC saw 3K end the season on top. MOFA on the other hand saw APS Bomet bag the slot with two games left.

MOFA got to the worst possible start when they conceded a penalty in the 10th minute. Kelvin Muthii stepped forward to take but his effort was saved by Erick Ongiri on MOFA goal before Elias Mugane fired on the rebound.

MOFA came all guns blazing after the break in search of a leveller and possibly a winner, pinning Fortune into their won half.

However, two quick goals saw Fortune kill the game. The first was from Jacob Wangui in the 79th minute before Mark Epaa added a second in the 81st.

Fortune Sacco makes a return to the second tier after one season in the third division.

The team was relegated from the National Super League for not honoring three league games. This was in protest of the nullification of the 2021/22 season, which was run by the FKF Caretaker Committee.

Fortune Sacco and APS Bomet had been elevated to the top tier, but the nullification meant they went back to the NSL and were relegated to the third tier after failing to honor three successive games.
