Ouma, who joined Gor Mahia from Tusker FC on August 27, 2023, exits the club on mutual agreement. His departure was announced through an official statement shared on the club’s Facebook page.
"Midfielder Rodgers Ouma will be departing the club on mutual agreement. We extend our sincere thanks to Rodgers for his contributions during his time with us and wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” the statement read.
During his two-season stint at K’Ogalo, Ouma helped the club clinch the 2023/24 FKF Premier League title, adding to his 2022/23 championship success with Tusker.
Despite his decorated spell, the attacking midfielder struggled to establish himself as a regular starter, especially during a turbulent campaign in which Gor Mahia failed to defend their league crown and suffered a 2-1 defeat to Nairobi United in the Mozzart Bet Cup final.
Ouma’s exit follows those of winger Samuel Onyango, defender Boniface Onyango, and first rising goalkeeper Caleb Omondi, with the latter now training with Shabana FC ahead of a potential deal with the Kisii-based side.
His departure underscores the sweeping changes underway at the club as K'Ogalo seek to reclaim lost glory under new head coach Charles Akonnor, who was unveiled last week following the team’s first trophyless season in nine years.
As part of their rebuild, Gor Mahia have already secured the services of three Bandari FC players, notably Harambee Stars duo of goalkeeper Bryne Omondi and defender Siraj Mohamed, alongside midfielder Fidel Origa.
The club is also reportedly pursuing Posta Rangers striker Felix Oluoch and Harambee Stars defender Swaleh Pamba, also from Bandari.
