Ondiek has been deployed in a defensive midfield role at Posta Rangers

Posta Rangers midfielder Bernard Ondiek said that hard work has been an important ingredient in helping him settle in comfortably at the club, and in a new role in midfield, following his move from Gor Mahia in February.

The former K'Ogalo player attributed his success in the defensive midfield role to putting in extra work after being entrusted in that position.

Before making the move to the Mailmen, Ondiek had been deployed in various departments while at Gor Mahia playing as a full back, attacking midfielder, winger, and even as a striker in some instances.

However, Stanley Okumbi has preferred to have him right in heart of the team's engine room since the resumption of the league, having only had two starts before the league was temporarily halted but has been a key starter lately.

"You need to work extra hard whenever you are trusted to play a position and that is what has happened at Posta. It has been good so far and we are doing well as a team, not just individually. For me, every game is a challenge to do better and improve the team," said Ondiek.

The former Western Stima player also added that Posta Rangers is targetting to finish in the top ten at the end of the campaign despite the team exhibiting mixed results previously.

"A top ten finish is very well possible. We need to look at where we went wrong in the last game against Homeboyz and try to correct it. But I believe we have a good squad and a good coach to attain our targets,"

"Every team is out to pick results and we need to step up our game and work harder. As a team, we have taken this challenge and we will give it a real push in the remaining games of the season," he added.
