Otuoma will be using at least 50,000 Kenya shillings on medication every month and is appealing for help.

Former AFC Leopards speedy winger Ezequiel Otuoma is appealing for financial aid to help in medication.

Otuoma was diagnosed with motor neurone disease earlier this month at The Aga Khan hospital, a disease that has affected his speech as well as his limbs partly and needs a huge amount of money to treat which has necessitated him to ask for help.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, former Kenyan International Boniface Ambani, who is behind the fund drive to help Otuoma with his medication, revealed that Otuoma's wife was the first one to approach him for help.

"He has been having a problem since last year. His wife called me three weeks ago and explained everything to me. I advised her to take him to the hospital for a checkup," Ambani said.

Otuoma will be under medication for the next three months and will have to pay approximately 50,000 Kenya shillings per month for medicine only.

"Doctors prescribed some medicine that he will take for three months then go back for check-up. He also needs to undergo speech therapy as well as physiotherapy due to the condition of his hands also. All that needs to be paid for. I did chat with him yesterday because he cannot talk well and he told me that if there is a way he can be helped he will appreciate it," the former Yanga forward added.

Otuoma turned out for Muhoroni Youth before moving to Ulinzi Stars, Western Stima, then to AFC Leopards. He left AFC Leopards for a second stint with Western Stima in 2018, then moved to Ushuru which he ditched for Talanta upon its disbandment.
