The experienced striker confirmed his departure through an emotional farewell message on his social media pages, thanking the club's management, technical bench, teammates and supporters for their unwavering support during his time in Bomet.

"What a journey it was, pure turbulence, but eventually we smiled. We won and were able to achieve our main objective, which was to remain in the league, and thus, I leave a proud man. Many thanks to the management for the opportunity and for facilitating us throughout.

To the technical team, I am more than grateful for the lessons and encouragement that helped me become a better player. To my teammates, you have been more than brothers through the fight to remain in the league, even in the most difficult times.

Finally, to the fans, I lack proper words. Your love has been immense, and your chants will forever be engraved in my memories. I am humbled and honoured to have been part of your history. Too much love, APS Bomet," Ochieng wrote.

Ochieng joined APS Bomet at the beginning of last season and quickly established himself as one of the club's most influential players during their historic maiden campaign in the FKF Premier League.

The former Sofapaka, AFC Leopards and Nzoia Sugar forward finished the season with six league goals, playing a pivotal role as the Law Enforcers secured a commendable 10th-place finish and successfully retained their top-flight status in their debut campaign.

His performances attracted interest from several clubs, including an unnamed Zambia Super League side, but it is Gor Mahia who have won the race for his signature as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season and their expected continental assignments.

The move also sees Ochieng become the latest player to represent both of Kenya's biggest football rivals, having previously featured for AFC Leopards before later making the switch to K'Ogalo.

Gor Mahia have been among the busiest clubs in the ongoing transfer window as they seek to assemble a squad capable of reclaiming the league title.

The record champions have already confirmed the arrivals of striker Paul Okoth from Ulinzi Stars, goalkeeper Michael Onyango from Equity FC and Harambee Stars defender Daniel Sakari from Kenya Police FC.

Ochieng's arrival is expected to add proven experience, versatility and goals to Gor Mahia's attacking department, with the club hoping his quality will strengthen their push for domestic success and a strong return to continental football.
